LJAS (Letchworth Jazz Appreciation Society) is a group of jazz enthusiasts who meet to listen to great recorded jazz on CDs and other media.

We meet once per month, on the last Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. for 7:30 p.m. start.

Our membership is a mixed as our listening tastes, so we enjoy hearing jazz of all eras, genres, musical configurations, and artistes. Our planned programme is formed of members offering their chosen theme-based selections of music: usually, a main presentation of up to 45 minutes, then shorter features by others. We also enjoy some live music evenings.
Membership costs £10 for the year, (£15 couples) plus a small charge of £8 for members (£10 guests) for each meeting to cover the cost of the room hire.

We have an extensive library of CDs, Books and Jazz DVDs that members may borrow, and there is usually a raffle with very generous selection of jazz prizes for those who wish to participate.
